English Student and Professor

Academic Programs

We offer small classes taught by award-winning professors, who help students to think and read critically, to write coherently, and to understand a variety of periods, genres, media, and cultures. In the English major, students choose from one of three concentrations: literature, writing, or film and digital media. The department also offers a route to earning certification for teaching at the elementary and secondary levels.
