Christian Theology

18 credits. Required courses:

  • Old Testament as Literature
  • New Testament as Literature
  • Christian Ethics
  • Electives: Three elective course of your choosing

World Religions

18 credit hours. Required courses:

  • Choose one: A level Elective (non-common curriculum)
  • Electives: Five elective courses of your choosing

*A minimum of one course must be in Christianity.

Religion and Media

Today, more than ever, it is important to be critical consumers of information derived from media. The Religion and Media Minor is an interdisciplinary program that educates students about religious traditions, encourages students to be attentive to the roles played by religions in history and current events, stimulates understanding of religions expressed in the products of culture, and teaches students to evaluate information so they become critical-thinking consumers of media as well as thoughtful producers of print, digital, and video content.

Double-Major or Double-Minor

Students who have completed two academic semesters and who have a minimum overall Loyola 3.0 GPA are able to pursue two majors or two minors simultaneously.

Interdisciplinary Minors

Some of the courses found in the Department of Religious Studies count toward an interdisciplinary minor.
