Sociology Resources

At Loyola University New Orleans, we believe in educating the whole person through rigorous academic studies and plentiful cultural experiences.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in campus life at Loyola by taking advantage of the many services we have to offer.

Internships have been available to students in recent years at the following community organizations or businesses: Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Orleans; Common Ground, Fair Housing Action Center, FEMA, Hispanic Apostolate, Kingsley House, Methodist Home for Children, Muscular Dystrophy Association, nola.com, ViaLink, and placement as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).

Supervised research and practical experience are essential to completing a sociology degree. Opportunities to conduct research for community organizations and faculty, as well as service learning projects, are incorporated into selected courses. Learn more about the faculty-mentored research project students complete as part of the Senior Capstone Project.
